We are a rapidly growing private equity-backed company with a diverse portfolio of six brands. We're seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Accountant to oversee our payroll operations and support a dedicated team of 5 to 6 payroll clerks managing subsidiary payroll functions. This fully remote role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing organization.

Job Summary:
As a Payroll Accountant, you'll oversee the payroll function across all six brands and corporate entities, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with regulations and company policies. You'll collaborate closely with the existing team of payroll clerks, providing leadership and support to ensure smooth operations across all subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities: ? Payroll Oversight: Supervise and manage the payroll process for six brands and corporate entities, ensuring that all payrolls are processed accurately and on schedule, in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. ? Team Leadership: Provide oversight and guidance to a team of 5 to 6 payroll clerks who handle the subsidiary payrolls, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all functions. ? Timekeeping Collaboration: Work alongside brand HR representatives to review and verify timekeeping records, addressing and resolving any discrepancies promptly. ? Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements within payroll operations to automate and streamline tasks, making the processes scalable and efficient while maintaining high-quality controls. ? Jurisdiction Setup: Establish payroll systems for new state jurisdictions in the US, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legal requirements. ? Payroll Coordination: Lead quarterly and year-end payroll activities, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in compliance with regulations. ? Data Integrity: Maintain and validate payroll data within ADP, including employee roles and workplace demographics, ensuring accuracy and consistency. ? Compliance Management: Work with payroll provider ADP to ensure timely and accurate filings with government agencies. ? SOP Development: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, including controls for new employee hires and changes in compensation, ensuring consistent application across all payroll processes. ? Reconciliation Support: Assist the General Ledger accountant with payroll reconciliations and benefit expense tracking, ensuring all financial data is accurate. ? Onboarding Management: Collaborate with brand HR representatives and the VP of HR to manage new employee onboarding, including training, benefits enrollment, and 401k administration. ? Worker's Compensation: Oversee worker's compensation coding and audits, working with brand HR and finance representatives to supply data and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications: ? Proven experience in payroll accounting, particularly in a mid-level role. ? Strong understanding of payroll procedures, including federal, state, and local regulations and payroll tax filings. ? Experience leading or supporting payroll teams, with a collaborative and supportive management style. ? Familiarity with ADP or similar payroll systems. ? Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. ? Proactive problem-solving skills with strong analytical capabilities. ? Ability to collaborate effectively with HR, finance, and other cross-functional teams. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
