About the position
Bladen Community College is seeking a dedicated and skilled Webmaster to manage, maintain, and enhance the college's website. This position is integral to supporting the college's mission of investing in students and the community. The Webmaster will collaborate closely with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Community Relations, as well as various campus departments, to ensure that the website aligns with the college's goals and brand strategy. The role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about the college's mission and committed to professional development and lifelong learning. The Webmaster will oversee the day-to-day management of the website, ensuring its functionality, design, and user experience are optimized. Responsibilities include creating workflows for website requests, monitoring website performance and security, updating content, and maintaining a consistent look and feel across all pages. The Webmaster will also implement search engine optimization strategies to enhance organic traffic and ensure compliance with relevant laws and accessibility standards. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the college's online presence and contribute to the overall success of the institution. In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, and be capable of providing technical support to website users. Responsibilities
? Oversee day-to-day management and maintenance of the website.

? Create workflow for receiving information and managing website requests.

? Ensure website functionality and efficiency.

? Monitor website performance, uptime, and security.

? Update website content including text, images, videos, and other multimedia elements.

? Maintain a consistent look and feel across all web pages, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.

? Implement and monitor search engine optimization to improve and drive organic traffic.

? Ensure website security by implementing security measures and staying updated with security best practices.

? Identify and resolve issues related to website functionality, performance, and usability.

? Use web analytics tools to monitor traffic, user behavior, and other metrics.

? Generate reports to inform strategies and decision-making.

? Provide technical support for website users and stakeholders, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

? Work with marketing, IT, and other departments to develop and implement web strategies that align with overall college goals.

? Ensure the website complies with relevant laws, regulations, and accessibility standards.
Requirements
? Proficiency in WordPress or other website management software.

? Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.

? Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).

? Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter).

? Current skills as evidenced by industry-recognized IT certifications.

? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

? Knowledge of web accessibility standards.

? Proven ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.

? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field; or an Associate's degree from an accredited institution with one-two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice-to-haves
? Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.

? State Retirement: Coverage through the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System begins with the date of full-time employment.

? Sick Leave: Faculty earn 6 hours per month (72 hours per year); Staff earn 8 hours per month (96 hours per year).

? Annual Leave: Accrual rates depend on years of service and accrued monthly.
