Traumaform CIC is looking for compassionate, enthusiastic and committed people with a range of skills to support our organisation in its ongoing development.

What difference will you make?

You will be supporting our core mission statement to be able to offer affordable, long-term therapy to those affected by Complex Trauma or PTSD and their co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm or addictions. Trauma therapy is often inaccessible to those who need it most. Byv volunteering as a trustee with Traumaform, you will be play an absolutely essential role in helping people who are suffering from the effects of trauma. Our mission statement also includes To increase people?s awareness of the effects of Complex Trauma and PTSD and the contributing factors. To offer education and training to those professionals interested in working with trauma. To help individuals, families and organisations work together to prevent its occurrence. To offer Supervision... to Trauma Therapists. To help clients identify and increase post-traumatic growth. To develop links with charitable organisations working with trauma survivors worldwide.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people whose values align closely with those expressed in our mission statement, who are keen to take our work forwards by helping to guide the development of our organisation and provide strategic input. While lived experience of trauma or mental health challenges would be highly valuable, we are also keen to hear from individuals with specific expertise in areas such as financial management, law, or community engagement. One or more of the below Accounting/financial experience A legal background An educational background Business management experience and skills Knowledge and experience of community engagement Lived experience of trauma and/or mental health Awareness and understanding of trauma Some understanding of symptoms of PTSD and Complex PTSD and their co-occurring disorders Essential A desire to make a difference Demonstrating passion for Traumaform?s work Compassion for those suffering from the effects of trauma Commitment to attend board meetings either online or in-person Ability to work as part of a team A flexible, open approach An empathic and non-judgmental attitude Contributing to Traumaform?s development through innovative and creative ideas If you can spare the time, if you want to gain experience, if you want to contribute to community benefit, or expand your horizon and feel you have something to offer Traumaform as a trustee, you are welcome to get in touch. What will you be doing?

At Traumaform CIC, we are in an exciting yet challenging phase of our journey. As a relatively young organization, we currently have only one board member, our founder, who has been steering the direction of the charity since its inception. While we have made significant strides in supporting individuals affected by Complex Trauma and PTSD, the absence of a fully constituted board presents a key challenge in building the governance structure required for sustainable growth. This is where the role of a new trustee becomes critical to our future success. One of the main challenges we face is establishing a strong and effective board of trustees to guide the organization through this period of expansion. A fully functioning board will help us create clear governance procedures, ensure accountability, and provide diverse perspectives that are vital in shaping the strategic direction of Traumaform. Financial sustainability is another priority, as we need to secure diverse funding sources to maintain and grow our services. Additionally, engaging with the wider community remains a goal, as we seek to ensure that our support reaches those in West Wales and beyond who are most in need. We are looking for a trustee who can bring new insights, fresh ideas, and practical expertise to help us overcome these challenges. This individual will play a vital role in building a robust governance structure and helping us to develop long-term strategies for sustainability. With the founder currently acting as the sole board member, the new trustee will be instrumental in shaping how the board operates, fostering a collaborative and innovative approach to decision-making, and ensuring we adhere to best practices as a growing non-profit. While lived experience of trauma or mental health challenges would be highly valuable, we are also keen to hear from individuals with specific expertise in areas such as financial management, law, or community engagement. However above all, we are seeking someone who is deeply committed to our mission, and empathetic to the needs of our beneficiaries. The responsibilities of this role will primarily involve attending board meetings, which take place 5-6 times a year and can be held either in person or online. Given our current structure, the new trustee will have a unique opportunity to shape not only the future of Traumaform but also the composition and role of the board itself. There is the potential for this individual to take on more specific responsibilities
