About The Role...
You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and behavioral needs of our diverse student body, with a particular focus on those with Individualized Education Programs. Working within our innovative 21st-century curriculum, you'll have the opportunity to utilize cutting-edge technology and traditional teaching methods to ensure that every student reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
Write and maintain IEPs in accordance with timelines and regulatory requirements
Participate in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to address student needs effectively
Maintain accurate student records and files to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local mandates
Conduct progress assessments and reports as necessary
Provide personalized instruction through one-on-one sessions, small group settings, or whole class environments
Administer Transition Assessments to facilitate student growth and development
Develop lesson plans tailored to accommodate goals outlined in students' IEPs
Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance standardized testing outcomes
Uphold confidentiality regarding student information and professional matters
About You
Master's Degree preferred in Education or related field
Possession of current West Virginia certification/licensure
Minimum three years of teaching experience, with a preference for at least two years in special education
Strong content knowledge in one or more subject areas
Familiarity with state teaching standards and proficiency testing
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, the MTSS process
Previous experience working with diverse student populations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Genuine passion for teaching and nurturing children's growth
Proficiency in computer applications such as Google Docs, MS Office Suite, and internet-based tools
Ability to adapt to new technologies and acquire new skills independently
Sound ability to analyze and interpret student data for informed decision-making
Willingness to occasionally work evenings and attend professional development sessions
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally and within the state
Ability to pass background checks as required
