About the position
The Test Content Analyst for Special Education at Pearson is responsible for planning and overseeing the development of educator licensure assessments and related products. This role involves writing test questions, editing assessment materials, and collaborating with other test development staff to ensure high-quality content that aligns with state and national standards. The position is remote and requires a strong background in special education, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
? Writes test questions and other assessment materials for teacher certification tests
,
? Edits assessment materials produced by in-house and consultant staff
,
? Oversees the development of test objectives, test items, practice tests, study guides, and related products for assigned projects
,
? Creates assignments for and supervises the work of in-house and consultant writers
,
? Facilitates the review of test items and objectives with committees of education professionals in a variety of content areas
,
? Stays knowledgeable of scientifically- and evidence-based research and developing state and national trends in instruction and evidence-based instructional practice in special education
,
? Demonstrates understanding of basic assessment practices including issues regarding testing bias and fairness, and use of assessment accommodations
,
? Creates and maintains planning documents, oversees development activities, and coordinates project activities within and outside the department
,
? Uses and integrates technological resources as management and development tools
,
? Travels on behalf of the company as needed, typically 5-10%, but up to 15%.
Requirements
? A graduate degree in special education, or a bachelor's degree in special education and a graduate degree in a related educational specialist field
,
? Must hold a current, valid teaching license
,
? Five or more years of successful recent experience providing instruction as a teacher of students with special needs in grades K-12
,
? Experience in delivering instruction to students in a variety of placements/settings (self-contained, resource, inclusion/co-teaching, online) is preferred
,
? Demonstrate knowledge of educational pedagogy, research- and evidence-based practices in special education, behavior management, assessment practices, instructional strategies across content areas to support diverse learners
,
? Co-teaching experience and working with linguistically and culturally diverse students and families.
