About the position
Teens Program Specialist at Girls in the Game is a pivotal role designed to empower teen girls through leadership development and community engagement. The Teen Squad Program operates during the school year, focusing on enhancing leadership skills by involving participants in various activities such as coaching younger girls, conducting service projects, interviewing professional women, and visiting colleges. This position not only provides direct service work but also involves significant program planning and coordination. The Teen Squad Specialist will be responsible for recruiting and training Teen Squad Members for the upcoming school year, ensuring that they are well-prepared to lead and inspire others. The role requires active participation in both in-person and virtual events, including those held at the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC) and citywide events. The Teen Squad Specialist will work closely with the Citywide Programs Manager and the Teens Program Coordinator to develop and implement engaging programs that resonate with the participants. The position is part-time, requiring 15-20 hours of work per week, with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and occasional weekends. The specialist may also be called upon to substitute or coach for other programs as needed, making adaptability a key component of this role.
Responsibilities
? Assist in recruiting, selecting, and training 50 teen club members using provided curriculum.

? Co-lead Girls in the Game sports, health, and leadership curriculum at the JTDC and contribute to program planning for each session.

? Identify opportunities to enhance recruitment and engagement strategies using platforms like Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and Instagram.

? Coordinate and chaperone city-wide field trips for Teen Squad, including career exploration trips where participants interview women in various fields.

? Attend recruitment events and conduct outreach to ensure maximum capacity for the Teen Squad.

? Create, manage, and track participant data on Salesforce and Sharepoint databases.
,
? Build relationships with stakeholders including site contacts, parents, and teens.
Requirements
? Some college education, preferably in health, youth or teen development, education, or a related field.

? At least two years of experience working with children and leading groups.
,
? Ability to learn and demonstrate basic skills in multiple sports and fitness activities.
,
? Regular travel to sites throughout Chicago, preferably by car.
,
? Demonstrated knowledge of computer environments, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

? Spanish conversation skills are strongly desired but not required.
