About The Position
Are you passionate about early childhood education? Do you thrive in a dynamic and nurturing environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our childcare department at The Corner School, located at our Corporate Headquarters in northwest Austin. In this role, you will work alongside our lead teacher in the 2-year-old classroom, contributing to the holistic development of our young learners.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor children both indoors and outdoors to ensure their safety and well-being.
Assist in planning and implementing engaging classroom activities.
Provide individualized attention to each child, fostering their growth and development.
Maintain a positive and supportive environment conducive to learning and self-discipline.
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the classroom environment and equipment.
Assume responsibility for classroom management in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferably, three years of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is desirable.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Completion of 24 clock hours of professional development training annually.
Skills And Abilities
Understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to maintain composure and exhibit flexibility in various situations.
Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including lifting and supervising children.
