The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses. This position is with the Information Technology and Research (IT&R) Section of the Central Services Division. IT&R provides a broad range of specialized technical services in the areas of information systems, data analysis/dissemination, and computer/telecommunication services for a large, diverse agency. The staff support the collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination of statewide and regional data about workers' compensation, accident prevention, insurance, financial institutions, corporate securities, and building codes. The section supports a number of critical systems to meet the regulatory requirements for each program, and to interact with other state and federal agencies. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Your role as a System Support Specialist is essential to achieving this mission. Your expertise will be relied upon to deliver services in the following ways: Actively participate as part of a small, diverse and highly collaborative technical team that serves the Department. Actively work with your team to provide a variety of Tier 2 technical support that is challenging, fast-paced, and includes support of day-to-day use and resolve issues with data systems for assigned business areas. Here?s what you need to qualify: Minimum Qualifications: Four (4) years of information systems experience in IT customer or system support; programming (software development); business analysis; and IT systems analysis and design OR An associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND two (2) years of information systems experience in IT customer or system support; programming (software development); business analysis; and IT systems analysis and design OR A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Requested Experience: IT customer or system support at an expert level, demonstrating high proficiency with technical details of complex data systems Programming (software development) within business applications to create and modify existing components of complex data systems utilizing .Net, Cold Fusion, and PL/SQL Business analysis, including identification of business need, eliciting, and documenting information technology requirements IT systems analysis and design, including architecting the physical implementation and integration of small and medium sized solutions.
