Position Summary The Case Manager, Student Wellness provides individual support to students through short-term, solutions-focused counseling as well as University and community-based referrals. In this role, the Case Manager will be responsible for providing direct interventions and support for students struggling with mental illness, basic needs, homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse... suicidal thoughts/intentions, and/or other matters impacting student wellbeing. The Case Manager will be well versed in public and private forms of basic needs support in communities across the country and will assist the Associate Director of the department with maintaining accurate records of referral options organized by geography and student need. The Case Manager will also provide training, consultation, and support to faculty and staff across National University in an effort to foster a supportive community of wellness. Essential Functions: Manage active caseload of students, providing brief solutions-focused counseling. Respond to new student referrals in a timely manner and facilitate either ongoing services or referrals across university resources. Provide asynchronous support to students using the institutions online mental health support program. Provide student wellness relevant trainings to both students and employees. Provide email, phone, and text message support as needed to students, faculty, and staff. Directly assist students in understanding and making informed decisions regarding University policy and procedure as related to personal wellness and emergency situations. Assist the Associate Director in creating and maintaining up to date resource lists/databases for both employees and students. Assist the Associate Director in responding to and otherwise managing communications through the department email cue. Assist the Associate Director in the identification of and response to students of concern (suicidal thoughts/intent and/or threat to others). Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Requirements: Education & Experience: Bachelor?s Degree required (preferably in social work, psychology, public health, or related field) Minimum 2 years? experience providing support services and working with adult student populations Military experience preferred Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills: Develops and maintains effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, customers and other using strong interpersonal skills. Based on the situation, decides the best course of action, implements the solution, and follows-up to see how it?s working. Calculates and evaluates the long-term consequences of a decision. Stays with a problem/line of thinking until a solution is reached or no longer reasonably attainable. Accepts personal accountability, proactively seeks resolution for personal limitations head-on; and supports honesty and respect towards others, the company and oneself. Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community. Travel: No Travel Required #LI-NK1 Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate?s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency.
