The Student Development Specialist II position for Student Organizational Conduct is responsible for assisting in the resolution of student organization conduct cases and other office initiatives, services and projects. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience One or more years of experience in student affairs work or related specialty with a bachelor?s degree No experience required with a master?s degree Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Attention to detail Confidentiality Dependability Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Ability to follow through with administrative tasks in a timely manner Ability to work with individuals from various backgrounds Essential Duties/Tasks: Conduct Administration - Facilitate the resolution of student conduct and organizational conduct cases and other office initiatives, services and projects. Tasks include reviewing reports for potential violations of the Student Conduct Code and Organizational Conduct Code, meeting with students, witnesses, advisors, and other supporters to resolve cases, and assigning appropriate educational sanctions. Serve as panel chair or student conduct administrator as needed. Presentation and Workshops - Design, implement, and evaluate presentations and workshops for students, faculty, and staff in alignment with office mission. This may include Ethics & Decision-Making workshops, Hazing, Education Workshops, and other workshops implemented by the Student Conduct Office. Training - Provide ongoing training relating to student conduct to staff, faculty, and students. Serve as a resource to provide consultation to University departments, advisors, and student organizations relating to student conduct. Stakeholder and Liaising - Assist in maintaining positive working relationships with office stakeholders, providing information when appropriate, responding promptly to appropriate requests for assistance, and maintaining a professional demeanor. Content Knowledge - Stay current on trends in student conduct and new legislation, state laws, federal requirements, and national standards relating to student conduct. Work with supervisor to create and maintain professional development plan, this may include utilizing campus trainings and/or attending professional conferences directly affiliated with job responsibilities. Assessment - Assist with office assessment. This includes developing outcomes that meet office, department, and university goals, developing and implementing assessments, interpreting and communicating findings, and maintaining the required documentation of the assessment plan. University/Division/Department Duties - Serve as representative on Department, Division, and University committees and task forces, at events, and to department stakeholders as assigned. Attend and actively engage in Department and Division meetings, trainings, and functions?other duties as assigned. Why Texas A&M University?
