Hybrid remote work options What You Will Be Doing You will perform expert-level application development activities to support the mission of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission. This position is part of the HECC IT Organization, and it provides expertise and leadership to analyze, plan, develop, integrate, implement and coordinate the operations, maintenance, installation and construction of the agency?s various information technology and system solutions. You will provide IT application integration support and application development to HECC and HECC partners including but not limited to Software as a Service (SaaS), custom built, integration to Commercial Over The Shelf (COTS) solutions, and client server applications, as well as support for both new development and on-going maintenance of existing applications critical to conducting the business of the agency. You will also provide applications support to critical areas of HECC such as statewide scholarship and grant systems, Academic Policy & Authorization (APA) and Oregon Degree Authorization (ODA) post-secondary and private institution administration, and many other systems. The Work at a Glance This position includes applications and software development in the following areas: Construction Design Coding Implementation Planning Operations Customer Service This recruitment is to fill full-time limited duration, job rotation and permanent positions headquartered at HECC?s Salem Office that are union represented. The successful candidate may be eligible for in-state hybrid work, which consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely. What We Need (Minimum Qualifications) Six (6) years of information systems experience in: web-based and/or .Net application development, or administering and developing applications using cloud platforms. OR An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: web-based and/or .Net application development, or administering and developing applications using cloud platforms. OR A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: web-based and/or .Net application development, or administering and developing applications using cloud platforms. OR Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above. Desired Attributes/Skills If you have these qualities, let us know! Advanced skills in application and software development/administration including - Application development/administration using cloud platforms ? strong Azure experience preferred. Web-based application development and/or expertise in .NET computer programming languages. Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle. Designing databases and database systems using Microsoft SQL Server Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, AngularJS, etc. Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Requires strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as to collaborate with others. Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS.
