Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:
? Gathers in-depth and significant information concerning the healthcare consumer's health and context.
? Utilizes assessment data analysis to determine the diagnosis or specific problems.
? Identifies the projected outcomes for a specialized plan tailored to the healthcare end-user.
? Develops a plan laying out methods and choices to achieve anticipated outcomes.
? Puts the outlined strategy into action. Ensures the patient progresses according to the plan.
? Coordination of care involves structuring the organization of healthcare services.
? Health teaching and health promotion - incorporates strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
? Through consultation, the advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist work to influence the identified plan, build the competencies of others, and effect change.
? Monitors the evolution made in attaining predefined objectives.

? Systematically improves the efficiency and quality of nursing practice
? Develops competency and understanding that reflect the latest advancements in nursing practice
? Reviewing how one's nursing practice complies with professional practice standards, guidelines, and the relevant statutes and regulations
? Collaborates with and fosters the professional development of peers and coworkers
? Partners with the patient, family, and others in the fulfillment of nursing obligations
? Ensuring ethical compliance is a foundational element of all practice areas
? Merging research outcomes with hands-on practices
? When planning and providing nursing services, it is essential to contemplate factors such as safety, effectiveness, cost, and implications for day-to-day operations
? Providing guidance and fostering growth within the profession and the professional setting

? Within the legal boundaries dictated by the state, Registered Professional Nurses are expected to provide competent care that meets the standards and policies of regulatory and accrediting entities.

Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to:
? Support the proper documentation and recording of nursing activities and patient interactions.
? Utilize various work-related platforms necessary for active engagement as a productive member of the organization, such as accessing company email, completing iLearn training modules, participating in employee engagement surveys, reviewing benefits and compensation information, and understanding company policies and procedures.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
