Principal Finance & Business Analyst

Position Title: Principal Finance & Business Analyst Salary Range: $93,128.25 - $130,379.53 Job Description Summary: This position serves as a key organizational resource working within the areas of financial planning, budgetary management, financial management system governance, and business analysis oversight. This a high-potential position requiring independent research, data mining, analysis... business acumen, problem solving, critical thinking, and mental agility to achieve mission critical initiatives. Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Budgeting, Financial Planning, and Analysis work includes but is not limited to: Lead the planning, coordination, and development of the annual budget process through the use of industry best practices. Develop and maintain formal long-term financial planning and revenue forecasting practices. Maintain an understanding of the long-term Cooperative Purchasing business objectives and perform business analysis through the use of business intelligence (BI) tools and analytics. Calculate and create visual dashboards in respect to organizational, financial, and operational metrics. Consult and collaborate with departments to discuss various fiscal matters and perform business case analysis, as needed. 2. Financial Management System Governance Promote and ensure a strong enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial management system governance model. Strategically design and assist in the maintenance the chart of accounts to deliver efficient and highly-valued internal budget and project reporting, while maintaining external UFARS reporting standards. Demonstrate the ability to lead and perform in areas of database management, data integrity, financial analytics, and custom reporting/querying. Utilize ongoing business process re-engineering and continuous improvement efforts, as it relates to the positions ERP governance oversight. Collaborate with information technology and business stakeholders in assessing the technology and business requirements needed to maximize operational efficiencies. Demonstrate leadership by working in the capacity of a project lead, business analyst, and/or project manager, as it relates to major financial management system project charters. Lead small scale financial management system projects as needed including scope, timelines, resources, dependencies, and communication. 3. Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: Assist in the ?big-picture thinking?, oversight, and integrity of sales and market segmentation data to empower sound decision making around business and marketing strategy decisions. Perform all other related assignments as required, including enterprise wide initiatives and cross-functional team project assignments in a professional manner. Serve as a mentor to finance staff; support growth and development within the team. Additional Job Description: Required Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field, AND Six years of professional accounting or finance experience. OR Closely related experience in a financial, budgetary, or business analyst role equivalent to a minimum of 10 years would be considered in lieu of degree requirements. AND Advanced user in MS Office Suite. Expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with a minimum of three years of system-wide administration. Fluent in methods of budgeting, with a minimum of three years? experience in organizational budgeting. Valid driver?s license. Preferred Qualifications MBA Extensive technology software knowledge and skills in the areas of: Budgeting software Business Intelligence (BI) and query tools Experience within Personnel budgets Experience in integrations between budget systems and GL Position open until filled.
