Southwest Airlines is seeking a motivated and skilled PR Associate to join our dynamic Public Relations team. This is a part-time remote position focused on supporting Southwest Airlines in enhancing and maintaining our positive corporate image and relationships with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and resourceful professional with a strong background in public relations, excellent planning abilities, and high emotional intelligence.

### **Key Responsibilities:**

• **Media Relations:**
• Assist in preparing press releases, media kits, and other materials to promote Southwest Airlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports to track the effectiveness of PR campaigns.

• **Crisis Communication Support:**
• Support the team in managing crisis communication efforts by drafting messaging and communication plans.
• Assist in the preparation of timely responses to inquiries from media and stakeholders during critical situations.

• **Content Creation:**
• Create compelling content for various communication channels, including the company website, social media, and internal newsletters.
• Collaborate with design teams to develop visually appealing and effective communication materials.

• **Research and Analysis:**
• Conduct research on industry trends, competitor PR activities, and audience perceptions to inform strategic decisions.
• Analyze the impact of public relations initiatives and suggest areas for improvement.

• **Event Coordination:**
• Assist in planning and organizing media events, press conferences, and promotional activities.
• Coordinate logistics, attendance lists, and follow-up communication with attendees.

• **Stakeholder Engagement:**
• Support the development of internal communications strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging across the organization.

### **Requirements:**

• **Education:**
• Bachelor?s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

• **Experience:**
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a similar role.

• **Technical Skills:**
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PR software and tools.
• Experience with social media platforms and content management systems.

• **Personal Traits:**
• **Reliable:** A consistent track record of meeting deadlines and delivering quality work.
• **Resourceful:** Ability to find innovative solutions to challenges and effectively manage multiple tasks.
