Part Time Remote Legal Assistant

Job Summary:I am looking for a part-time legal assistant or paralegal to assist with social security disability related paperwork filing. This will primarily consist of filing initial applications, appeals and possibly other documents from time to time. But, primarily this will be properly filing initial applications for disability...Responsibilities:
• Timely filing of applications, based on documents that you will be sent electronically.
• Occasionally reaching out to a client to verify missing or unclear information within an application questionnaire or unclear handwriting.
• Mailing rep documents to local ssa offices, after application is filed online.
• Sending ?completed application receipts to the main office once completed.
Skills:
• Previous experience with ssa disability is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication skills and professional, friendly demeanor
• Previous use of online portals or other legal based software is preferred, not required.
• Intensive dedication to privacy and the security of sensitive client information.
• The ability to shred and delete sensitive information once completed.
This part-time, hourly, contract type position will be a variable number of hours per week or month. Essentially, my office will intake new clients for appeals and initial ssa disability applications, then forward the documents to you. You will log into the ssa portal and file the appeals, initial applications and rep documents online as needed. It could be just a few hours per week, or significantly more depending on the law firm's intake numbers. You will keep track of your time weekly and send an invoice biweekly.
