Office of Student Financial Services, the University Registrar, and the Virginia College Advising Corps, as a critical member of the University?s Enrollment team. The team?s mission is: to care for students from their first interaction with the University through Final Exercises and beyond; to compete for great students from all walks of life who will make each other better; and to collaborate joyfully with colleagues to help these students make the most of their gifts and their time on Grounds. In this work, we process thousands of student inquiries and over 50,000 applications each year. For many visitors and prospective students, we are their first point of contact with UVA, so the impression we make is crucial. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to assist with a variety of administrative tasks. Create an inviting atmosphere for visiting guests, callers, and office staff. Welcome University guests, answer prospective student questions, and assist with information session registration and tours. Provide professional, knowledgeable, and consistent customer service via phone, email, and in-person communications. Perform routine clerical office support, such as filing and processing application materials and mail. Stock materials in the main lobby and at the Front Desk. Other duties as assigned. To be considered, candidates must be willing to: Work 10-15 hours per week. Operate basic office machinery, such as phone, fax machine, computer, and copier. Lift boxes up to 25 pounds. Learn and share important facts about UVA and the undergraduate admission process. Follow oral and written instructions. Work and communicate effectively with others. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
