Overview:

As a Market Insights Sr Analyst, you will be responsible for leading advanced market research and competitive analysis initiatives. You will provide critical insights that inform business strategies, shape product development, and enhance competitive positioning. This role requires a seasoned professional with robust analytical skills, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to guide a team and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in POS data, preferably having previous experience working for Nielsen, Circana (IRI), or a Panel data provider.

Key Responsibilities: ? Marketplace Data Analytics ? Day-to-day lead and key point of contact for all POS data, including Direct from Retailer data reads and 3rd Party Data sources including covering Point-of-Sale, Consumer Panel, and eCommerce databases. ? Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and management of all competitive marketplace tools. ? Synthesize data from multiple sources to deliver strategic insights that drive business decisions. ? Create a detailed reporting structure that effectively communicate key takeaways and implications to be shared with senior management and other stakeholders. ? Utilize and update data visualization tools to streamline syndicated reporting initiatives while improving their clarity and impact on business decision making. ? Point-of-contact for ad hoc data requests, ensuring the right questions are answered to address stakeholder needs. ? Thought Leadership ? Create a periodic newsletter summarizing the key takeaways and implications from economic reports and pet industry publications that will have an impact on our business. ? Monitor and analyze competitor activities, product offerings, and market positioning. Provide insights and strategic recommendations to help the company stay ahead of the competition. ? Identify emerging trends and shifts in consumer preferences/behaviors. Provide actionable insights to help the company adapt to changing market conditions. ? Collaborate with marketing, innovation, sales, and strategic planning teams to provide insights that influence product strategies, marketing campaigns, and overall business strategy. ? Highlight emerging market trends and how they translate into potential growth opportunities and/or potential risks. Develop and recommend strategies to leverage opportunities and mitigate threats.

Requirements:

Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s Degree with a concentration in Psychology, Math, Business Administration, or Economics preferred but open to any candidate with a strong track record in in analytics. ? Proven experience (4+ years) in sales analytics, pricing strategy, revenue management, or a related field, with a track record of driving measurable results. ? Robust experience with proven success garnering actionable insights from POS data (Nielsen/NIQ, IRI/Circana) and with Panel data (Nielsen OmniShopper, Numerator, etc.). ? Preference for candidates with previous experience working for Nielsen/NIQ, IRI/Circana, and/or a Panel data provider such and NIQ or Numerator. ? Preference for candidates with previous pet-sector CPG experience. ? Strong analytical skills with proficiency tying multiple data sources together into a holistic, impactful story with actionable takeaways. ? Must demonstrate command over Power BI and Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with similar tools to the aforementioned is also acceptable. ? Experience with data languages like SQL, R, Python are a plus but not required. ? Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. ? Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a focus on achieving business objectives.
