About The Role:

Manager Global Operations - Cargo supports and drives the strategic direction and business plan of Swissport?s cargo business, with a special focus on handling special products, including dangerous goods.

Acting as a Global Process Manager and Subject Matter Expert, this role ensures that the operational management and global standard processes for special products meet business needs effectively and efficiently, with high emphasis on employee and supply chain safety.

This role collaborates with Swissport stations, customers, IT, commercial, and external interest groups to enhance business capabilities related to special products.

Main Responsibilities:

Drive Standardization and Improvement in Special Products Handling:
? Act as Global Process Manager and Subject Matter Expert for special products, including dangerous goods, advising across the global chain of command.
? Monitor and document industry changes related to special products, incorporating relevant updates into Swissport?s operational materials and processes.
? Manage and enhance network standards for service capturing and billing of special products.
? Implement network standards and support local Swissport project teams in handling special products.

Project Management for Special Products:
? Oversee business and strategic aspects of key operational projects related to special products, including dangerous goods, such as business cases, functional requirements, development priorities, roll-outs, and change requests.

Stakeholder Management:
? Build and promote Swissport?s global standards and processes for special products, including dangerous goods, with stakeholders including headquarters, regional and country management, providers, and customers.

Efficiency and Quality Initiatives:
? Lead projects to automate or centralize services related to special products, creating efficiencies, cost savings, and quality improvements.

Representation and Leadership:
? Represent Swissport Headquarters in multi-functional and multinational teams on start-ups, integration, and interim management assignments, particularly focusing on special products and dangerous goods.
? Conduct operational audits, business reviews, and improvement projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in the handling of special products and dangerous goods at Swissport locations.
? Represent Swissport Headquarters in international industry meetings.

Qualifications and Competencies:
? Higher education; a relevant university degree is an advantage.
? Experience in project management.
? First hand experience with the handling of special air cargo and dangerous goods.
? 5+ years of experience in the aviation industry, specifically in air cargo operations with a focus on special products, including dangerous goods.
? Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Excellent customer orientation and negotiation skills.
? Professional stakeholder management.
? Highly self-motivated.
? Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
? Strong interpersonal skills with a drive for self-improvement.
? Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
? Willingness to travel worldwide (up to 20%).
? Ability to adapt to various cultural and business environments, and manage changing scopes and priorities.
