Typically, this position can expect to spend 1-2 days in the office each week and travel in-state 6-8 times per year. About the Agency: Are you interested in helping improve the legitimacy, effectiveness and efficiency of state and local criminal justice systems? The Oregon Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) serves as a centralized and impartial forum for statewide policy development and planning related to public safety statewide. The Programs Team delivers over $100 million in grant funding each biennium to implement and further a range of innovative programs including prison diversion efforts, treatment courts, restorative justice initiatives, and services for individuals with behavioral health challenges. CJC is also the primary research agency for state criminal justice data. This creates a unique atmosphere of 35 professionals working to advance public safety in Oregon. About the Job: Your Role: This position works as part of CJC?s Programs Team to lead multiple statewide grant programs designed to help counties offer community-based interventions as alternatives to incarceration. Working as the Justice Reinvestment Program Manager offers opportunities to learn about and influence public safety efforts throughout Oregon. Areas of focus include prison diversion, community supervision and treatment courts, as well as services for victims/survivors of crime and culturally responsive services for justice-involved individuals. As the Justice Reinvestment Program Manager, you will: Provide positive guidance and support to team members in planning and completing grant-related tasks. Work with a team to manage grant programs, monitor grant recipients, and report program outcomes in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Build trustworthy relationships with state, local and non-profit partners statewide. Lead multi-agency committees and workgroups in the evaluation of criminal justice data and program outcomes. Advise organizations on the development and implementation of best practices. Your work will require person-centered leadership and detail-oriented program management. You will navigate competing priorities and timelines and be expected to provide exceptional customer service and clear guidance to a wide variety of partners. In this position, you will prepare and present data and information to government and community leaders, including the Oregon Legislature. The right person for this position is an effective team leader, with professional program management experience, the ability to evaluate and explain data, and excellent people skills. As a part of our team, you will help lead Oregon toward a future where every aspect of the criminal justice system is equitable, efficient, and worthy of confidence. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years of experience coordinating and evaluating a program. OR; Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification. Desired Attributes: Experience collaborating with community advocates and government officials on wide-ranging public safety policy or programs. Experience leading the evaluation of program data and outcomes. Experience interpreting data and associated visualizations and presenting findings or trends to general audiences. Understanding of risk, need, and responsivity principles related to assessment and treatment. Understanding of current issues related to public safety.
