The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant to support the work of Professor Ed Keedwell. This Innovate UK funded post is available from 01/11/24 to 17/02/25. The successful applicant will research and develop computational methods for controlling and predicting operation of clean technologies including working on a range prediction tool for alternatively fuelled vessels. Using data from publicly-available sources and data provided by the industrial partner, the role will involve the development of computational (e.g. machine learning and optimisation) tools to predict the remaining range of alternatively fuelled vessels, taking into account vessel history, powertrain characteristics and environmental factors.

About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally... in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.

The starting salary will be from ?3,232 on Grade E, depending on qualifications and experience
