As an Embedded Software Developer based in Austin, TX you will transform ideas into products that bring value to the process control industry.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
? Develop low-level hardware drivers for various peripherals, including but not limited to UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, DMA, and interrupts.
? Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring-up to initialize and validate hardware components, solve hardware/software integration issues, and optimize system performance.
? Design and implement test applications for validating hardware functionality, ensuring reliability, and facilitating manufacturing functional testing.
? Develop and maintain firmware for embedded systems, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
? Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality products.
? Work closely with multi-functional teams to define requirements, create technical specifications, and deliver high reliability hardware platforms to meet organizational objectives.
? Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard methodologies in embedded software development.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
? BS Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar degree and 4 years of experience OR
? MS Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar degree and 3 years of experience
? Solid understanding of embedded systems architecture, including microcontrollers, peripherals, and communication protocols.
? Experience in the development of embedded real-time software and knowledge of embedded operating systems.
? Proficiency in C/C programming languages, with experience developing low-level software for embedded systems.
? Experience with board bring-up activities, including configuring and testing hardware interfaces, memory mapping, and debugging hardware/software integration issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
? Experience with programming ARM microprocessors
? Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), build systems, and continuous integration tools.
? Experience with developing software using Agile/scrum methodology
? Familiarity with hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog, VHDL) and schematic capture tools
? Knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience with test automation frameworks is highly desirable.
? Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal programming environments
? Understanding or experience with Process Control or Distributed Control Systems
