Role Overview
You will play a pivotal role in fostering excellence in teaching practices and ensuring positive outcomes for children. You will collaborate with classroom staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and support based on evidence-based frameworks. Through your guidance and expertise, you will empower educators to deliver impactful learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct ongoing classroom observations and analyze data to assess teaching practices and children's progress.
Collaborate with program leadership to interpret data and determine focus areas for coaching and professional development.
Develop coaching plans tailored to individual teachers, focusing on goals and measures of success.
Provide constructive feedback and support to teachers through various coaching strategies, including observation and modeling.
Measure the effectiveness of coaching efforts and gather relevant data for analysis.
Coordinate with administration to support staff training and continuous improvement efforts.
Participate in agency committees and initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 30 hours of child development courses.
Illinois Gateways (Level 5) Early Childhood Credential or ability to obtain.
3-4 years of experience as an early childhood teacher, trainer, or coach.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong coaching and mentoring abilities with a focus on adult learning.
Knowledge of high-quality teaching practices and ability to support their implementation.
Proficiency in data analysis and making recommendations based on findings.
Interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with staff and solve problems collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience Working With Diverse Populations Preferred.
Head Start experience and bilingual (Spanish-English) skills are a plus.
