At Generate, our mission is to accelerate the deployment of low-carbon buildings by creating a next-generation workflow that links design to manufacturing. As a Boston-based MIT spin-off, we are transforming how the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction sector designs and builds by integrating state-of-the-art generative design and offsite construction techniques.

Our technology aims to tackle global climate and housing crises by promoting cost-effective, sustainable building materials and systems. Since our beta launch in Q4 2023, millions of square feet of mass timber projects flow through our platform each month. To support our rapid growth, we are seeking a dynamic leader to join us as the Director of Projects, a role with massive growth potential within our company.

Your Role

As the Director of Projects, you will:
? Support Project Teams: Collaborate with developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to generate and optimize mass timber designs using Generate's platform.
? Collaborate with Supply Chain: Work closely with suppliers to digitally integrate and optimize their products within project designs, and assist in generating accurate quotes.
? Contribute Structural Expertise: Provide structural engineering insights during feature development workshops with our software engineering team.
? Gather User Feedback: Solicit and analyze feedback from project teams to inform our future product roadmap.
? Drive Market Adoption: Act as a catalyst to transition mass timber from a niche market to mainstream adoption.

Requirements
? Licensed Structural Engineer: Must hold a valid structural engineering license.
? Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
? Industry Experience: Proven track record in the mass timber industry with successful built projects.
? Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with structural analysis software.
? Startup Mindset: Comfortable with lean product development processes, including pivots and resource prioritization focused on product-market fit.
? Excellent Communicator: Strong collaboration and communication skills, both virtual and in-person.
? Problem Solver: Driven to tackle complex challenges with innovative and practical solutions.
? Team Player: Ability to work in an environment that encourages respectful debate and idea exchange.
? Work Authorization: Valid work status in the United States.

Nice-to-Haves
? Financial Acumen: Ability to discuss pro forma goals with development teams and educate them on integrating offsite, biophilic construction systems into their models.
? Architectural Insight: Understanding of architectural design principles.
? Cost Modeling Experience: Familiarity with construction cost modeling.
? Product Knowledge: Ability to comprehend technical requirements of building products and systems.
