Director ? eDiscovery & Information Governance

My client is looking to hire a director of eDiscovery & Information governance. This individual will be responsible for supporting and growing their competitive position in the areas of eDiscovery and information governance. This role requires a hands-on leader who is capable of fostering collaboration across business and client teams and thrives in high-pressure environments. The successful candidate will have to have come from a background within law firms

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
? Proven technical, client management, project plan design, budgeting, facilitation, and project leadership skills
? Working within a law firm environment.
? Experience with investigating and developing facts regarding unfamiliar information systems and platforms to understand how the system works, what it contains, and how to effectuate preservation, identification, and collection of data
? Ability to quickly digest large volumes of complex information and summarize the key issue in a way that is technically accurate but easy to understand
? Experience in a legal context (information governance or litigation/eDiscovery) with Microsoft 365 (M365) and/or Google Workspace suite products
? Demonstrated expertise in managing and supervising eDiscovery service providers, while effectively coordinating with clients and external counsel to ensure successful outcomes
? Experience with mobile devices and messaging, including:
? Mobile Device Management tools
? Preservation for litigation of texts, messaging, and mobile device data
? Methods for collection, processing, review, and production of mobile device data
? Extensive experience in identifying and understanding data storage locations, and ideally, experience advising clients about classifying and organizing information to ensure efficient data management and accessibility
? Demonstrated expertise in understanding data retention policies and schedules and the practical application of those policies and schedules within a complex data infrastructure
? Experience with planning and evaluating migrations between platforms (e.g., from an email journal archive to M365) from a preservation and legal defensibility perspective
? Experience investigating unexpected deletion of data, determining root cause(s), and developing technical facts and supporting evidence surrounding same
? In-depth knowledge of common data storage and retrieval methods, including a thorough understanding of databases, their functionality, and techniques for extracting data efficiently
? Familiarity with technology platforms frequently used by corporate law departments to facilitate legal hold and preservation measures (e.g., Exterro, Relativity Legal Hold)
