Accounting Manager - Remote | WFH
Position Overview
Are you passionate about leading and enhancing an accounting department? We're looking for a dynamic Accounting Manager to oversee daily operations, manage recurring tasks, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure top-notch client service and deadline adherence. This role is perfect for someone who excels in leadership, is adept at managing and growing a team, and... enjoys delivering regular updates to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Department Growth and Management: Lead and nurture the accounting team to foster growth and efficiency.
Recurring Task Management: Ensure all recurring tasks are documented and completed monthly. Assign tasks with clear deadlines and budgeted time, and document processes with videos or written guides.
KPI Tracking: Identify and track key performance indicators. Update the KPI spreadsheet weekly using system reports.
Client Responsiveness: Maintain a high standard of client service by ensuring 90% of client queries are answered within one business day.
Deadline Adherence: Achieve a 98% deadline adherence rate by staff, monitored through ClickUp.
Onboarding and Account Management: Oversee client onboarding to ensure timely integration and address any additional client needs or services.
Staff Supervision: Conduct monthly check-ins with each staff member to review performance and research.
Profitability Monitoring: Track the average realized hourly rate by client to ensure profitability standards are met.
Management Reporting: Provide regular updates to leadership, including monthly close reports and client retention statistics.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation preferred.
5+ years of accounting or finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in nonprofit accounting is a plus.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ClickUp, Helpscout).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and staff development.
Availability to work West Coast hours.
