The purpose of this position is to oversee the Enterprise Business Continuity program and provide leadership to the Enterprise Business Continuity planners. This position identifies and assesses areas of continuity risk and assists in developing effective risk mitigation strategies and plans to improve business resiliency. A major focus will be assuring the end-to-end process of development, accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the Enterprise?s contingency plans for critical business areas to maintain continued operations, asset protection and loss mitigation in the event of a disruption. Key activities include acting as a consultant and subject matter expert, working with segment leadership to develop, update, enhance, and monitor business continuity plans and report on residual risk and risk mitigation strategies to the Executive Steering Committees. This position facilitates communications and decision support between segment business continuity leadership, the Global Crisis Management team, and business leadership. Facilitates timely identification, escalation, resolution, and follow-up on issues; and assists in enhancing, formalizing, and standardizing the business continuity planning process, including monitoring and measurement mechanisms. This position also entails working closely with other senior leaders within and outside the Enterprise Resilience organization
to identify and reduce risk.

This position oversees highly complex business continuity and incident management activities under minimal supervision of the VP of Enterprise Resilience. This position supports continuous improvement and alignment with company strategies, goals, and objectives, including continuing to evolve the program to better support the changing cyber threat landscape.
This position has leadership over fifteen Segment Business Continuity leaders and analysts.

Primary Responsibilities: ? Lead staff of fifteen Segment Business Continuity Directors and Managers ? Identifies and assesses continuity risk and business impact providing guidance to and cultivating ? understanding of and acceptance with business owners. Promote accountability for risk ownership and ? engagement for successful development and implementation of risk mitigation plans. Monitor effectiveness of plans and report outcomes to leadership ? Oversees business continuity plan development, analysis, testing, evaluation and reporting on all aspects of assigned program(s) ? Acts as a liaison with the Global Crisis Management team for all business segments, facilitating the communication process to be utilized to respond to major events affecting our personnel, business operations, and/or site locations, with the goal of maintaining the safety of our personnel and avoiding or minimizing damage to the organization?s ability to operate, profitability and reputation ? Defines business continuity program objectives/strategies, timetables, budgets, and resource assessments/requirements for the Enterprise ? Designs, develops, implements and tracks processes and system enhancements which meet program objectives and business goals. Ensures measurements tools are in place to evaluate effectiveness of program outcomes ? Interprets internal policies and government regulations as they relate to programs and makes recommendations for program refinement based on business requirements ? Develops reports and delivers presentations to management and executive steering committee regarding recommendations related to programs and risk mitigation strategies ? Acts as primary facilitator, coordinator, and communicator of cross-functional project teams and as a liaison for internal and external staff/clients ? Ensures communications, training and educational programs related to program outcomes are developed and implemented ? Develops relationships with plan owners and key decision-makers to ensure sponsorship of program and alignment of goals with business strategies ? Ensures projects adhere to strict budget and timeframe constraints ? 7x24 On call support. ? Ability to travel internationally as required

Required Qualifications: ? 10 years of progressive leadership experience ? 10 years of experience in business continuity (BC), crisis or disaster recovery (DR) planning with proven knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery methodologies and principles, including current industry standards and practices ? 10 years of leadership skills, including the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels to build solid team relations ? 8 years of experience with analytical skills and attention to detail, including the ability to analyze unique customer environments and define appropriate risk mitigation strategies for BC / DR solutions and resources ? 8 years of experience with demonstrated presentation skills, including the ability to interface with Executive management ? 6 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite and business continuity software programs ? 5 years of project or program management experience ? California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $147,300 to $282,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
