We are looking for a motivated, organized, and talented Virtual Medical Receptionist to join our team, focusing on creating and maintaining patient health records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and making sure all necessary paperwork (i.e. consents, demographic, and clinical forms) are in the patient chart prior to the appointment. Job Purpose: Responsible to effectively manage and organize patient health records. This patient facing role involves maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of patient information, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Virtual Medical Receptionist works with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and assists in the indexing and retrieval of medical records.

Responsibilities: ? Contacts/interacts with patients via phone and/or video; collects demographic info, identification, insurance, and other applicable info to upload into the EMR. ? Schedules patient appointments; provides reminders to patients of upcoming appointments via phone call, text, email, and other communication means. ? Creates, organizes, files, and manages patient health records, both electronic and paper-based. ? Ensures that all records are accurate, complete, and updated in a timely manner. ? Enters patient data into health information systems and EMR(s). ? Monitors the fax inbox and files faxes to appropriate patient chart. ? Adheres to HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws to safeguard patient information. ? Practices secure data protection measures and handles confidential information responsibly. ? Prepares and retreives medical records for healthcare providers, auditors, or other authorized parties. ? Processes requests for records from patients, insurance companies, and other entities. ? Performs audits and checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity. ? Identifies and corrects errors or inconsistencies in patient records. ? Generates reports related to patient data and departmental metrics. ? Maintains documentation of processes and procedures related to health information management. ? Assists healthcare staff with questions related to health records. ? Provides training and support to new staff on health information systems and documentation practices. ? Troubleshoots and resolves issues with health information systems and EHR software. ? Collaborates with IT staff to address technical problems and system upgrades. ? Performs other duties as assigned.

Here are our MUST HAVES:

Required Education, Experience, Certifications / Licensure, & Skills:
? Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related field and ONE to THREE years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
? Proficiency in health information systems and electronic medical records (EHR).
? Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
? Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
? Is a self-starter that requires little supervision, thrives in a self-directed environment
? Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
? Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
? Bachelor's degree is a plus
? Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
? Experience with medical coding
? Knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT).

Job Information:

Job Type (FLSA Status): Hourly Non-exempt
Pay: $16.83 to $19.24
Ability to commute/relocate: Commute to the facility in Danville, KY 2/3 days per week
Work Location: Hybrid (In-person and remote role)
