Business Overview | As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk ? or Independent Risk Management ? provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Program Overview | The Corporate Risk Development Summer Program is a professional development program that provides participants with a ten-week overview of Wells Fargo and a high-level understanding of the company's operations, business strategies, and corporate culture. The internship experience includes relationship building, relevant work assignments, coaching, performance feedback sessions, group projects, and informative learning... sessions with key leaders. It is designed to provide master?s students with a blend of business and professional developmental training opportunities that incorporate real-world experiences and prepare you for a career at Wells Fargo. The internship program is a pipeline program where successful interns will receive an offer to return the following year for the full-time associate program. Program Placement Verticals: Business and Enterprise function-aligned teams including: Consumer & Small Business Banking Risk Consumer Lending Risk Corporate & Investment Banking Risk (Including Market Risk) Finance Risk Risk-type aligned teams including: Compliance Risk Corporate Model Risk Credit Risk Operational Risk Strategic Enterprise Risk Management Independent Testing & Validation In this role, you will: Review various assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained, related to low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables Receive direction and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of compliance and risk management requirements Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Effectively research risk problems by determining root cause, establishing priorities, and analyzing different outcomes to recommend an appropriate solution Analysis of reporting and monitoring of data related to emerging risks Perform analysis that maximizes profits and/or asset growth, and minimizes credit and/or operating losses and other risk exposures Produce performance monitoring and benchmarks regarding growth, mix, delinquency, losses and overall profitability and performance Program dates for 2024: June ? August Program Location for 2024: Charlotte, NC Required Qualifications: 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Master?s degree candidate from a 2-year program with an expected graduation of December 2024 ? May/June 2025 Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated interest in the fields of one of the following: IT, STEM, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Law, Accounting and/or Analytics Ability to take on a prominent level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products Knowledge and or experience in the financial services industry Demonstrated interest/experience in manipulating data and reporting, data visualization, and/or data analytics Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas How to Apply: The Wells Fargo 2024 Corporate Risk Summer Intern Program will be accepting applications through the Wells Fargo Career website.
