In this role you will: Be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving, and underwriting routine individual consumer requests and products with few deviations and within company and industry guidelines… Review credit applications, credit bureau information, collateral valuation, tax returns, financial statements, and or other supporting documentation to recommend or approve requests within deaccessioning authority levels by way of automated scoring system or traditional underwriting. Assist with the calculations and preparation of reports for review. Ensure credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards. Present recommendations for resolving situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of the Underwriting role. Collaborate with individuals and managers to handle inquiries and achieve objectives. Mentor peers and less experienced staff This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below. Required Qualifications: 4 years mortgage/commercial credit underwriting experience, AND 24 month documented jumbo lending and/or portfolio/Home Equity experience, OR >1 year at Non-Agency MCD3 OR Holds an active equivalent authority level in a different origination system. Eligible employees with active lending authority must be in good quality standing defined as: Not currently in any outlier status, AND no actionable outlier occurrences in the last 6 months, AND not currently on a quality action plan. Desired Qualifications: Basic Microsoft Office skills Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of an organization. Previous Knowledge and experience with Non-Agency Loans/Underwriting Previous Knowledge & Experience Lending Authority Previous Portfolio Underwriting Experience Experience analyzing complex income review. Exposure To and/or Experience with the Wells Fargo’s CORE origination system Job Expectations: This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment.
