The role of the Registered Nurse is to provide compassionate and personalized care to patients by utilizing the sciences of healing and nursing. They prioritize the prevention of illnesses and injuries, promote health and healing, alleviate suffering, and advocate for the highest level of care. The Nurse exercises independent judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care in adherence to ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice, institutional policies, regulations, and laws.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:
? Unearths all-encompassing data that is significant to the healthcare user's health and/or situation.
? Reviewing the assessment data to identify the diagnosis or issues needing attention.
? Foresees anticipated consequences for a personalized healthcare strategy developed for the patient.
? Prepares a roadmap that charts a course of action and substitutes to reach intended goals.
? Carries out the prescribed course of action to ensure the patient's improvement.
? Coordination of care ensures that the healthcare team is working collaboratively to improve care delivery.
? Strategies used to encourage individuals to lead a healthy lifestyle and foster a safe environment fall under the umbrella of health education and health promotion.
? Utilizing their experience and abilities, advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists act as catalysts for change in their consultations.
? Appraises advancement in realizing targeted results.

Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to:
? Assist in documenting nursing actions and the treatment provided to patients.

? Continuously exploring avenues to improve the standard of patient care delivery through resourceful and inventive troubleshooting techniques.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a high level of physical capability, including the exertion of a minimum of 25 pounds of force consistently, with frequent exertion of over 50 pounds, occasional exertion of more than 100 pounds, and seldom exertion of over 100 pounds to move objects. There is also a potential risk of radiation exposure and a frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. The position may entail assigned shift lengths, including the occasional 8 or 12-hour shift, night shift, or other irregular hours.
