In this position you can expect to work at an office, in the field and from your home office as needs require. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. In this position you can expect to work on site at 1200 Federal Blvd, Denver CO 80204 approximately one day a week and at various locations through the City & County of Denver when supporting APS caseworkers and clients in the field. Other work may be conducted from your home office or at the 1200 Federal Blvd location. The Child Welfare & Adult Protective Service Division Division is seeking a committed, passionate Staff Social Case Worker to serve our Adult Protective Services clients. Overall, the Staff Social Case Worker: Receives on-the-job training on acceptable case work methods and techniques in order to perform a variety of case management functions Identifies and offers appropriate and available resource referrals for screened out reports that were identified by leadership as potentially benefiting from such connections Tracks assignments and duties daily via designated work logs At APS social case workers? requests, makes contact with client?s support network, potential service agencies, and community partners to obtain case information, coordinate services and/or secure assistance Attends training opportunities to meet continuing education requirements and enhance skills and knowledge as it relates to Adult Protective Services Participates in committees and workgroups focused on resources, prevention and community partnership Gathers and maintains knowledge of available resources in the community that support at-risk adults After 6 months in Staff Social Case Worker role, supervisor of this position may explore eligibility and timeframe to become a CDHS certified Adult Protective Services caseworker; and identify available future promotional opportunities Additionally, the Staff Social Case Worker: Performs increasingly more responsible work as the employee gains experience and independently provides basic case work services Creates periodic reports pertaining to tracked activities and tasks assigned to the Staff Social Case Worker Assists in the coordination and delivery of services to clients Represents the department in accordance with CDHS and city rules and regulations May be re-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City-wide emergency declared by the mayor May not include all of the duties listed, or may be assigned additional duties appropriate to the classification that have not yet been identified About You What You?ll Bring We value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels. Knowledge of MS Applications and ability to learn new computer applications Excellent organizational skills Plan, prioritize and be flexible with clients and/or program needs Effectively present information and respond to outside stakeholders and other professionals via email, telephone, fax, etc Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, managers, families and other professionals Perform efficiently in a high volume, high stress environment Willingness to approach this position, new to Denver Adult Protective Services, with an open mind and innovative thinking in order to successfully support the needs of the program Required Minimum Qualifications Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field Experience Requirement: None Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted Licensure: Requires a valid Driver?s License at the time of application.
