The Shortage Control Analyst, Loss Prevention is responsible for assessing and determining shrink issues and developing solutions to support the store and to protect company assets. Plans, coordinates and executes annual physical inventory for all stores, including schedules, preparations, procedures, training and execution. Reconciles inventory and utilizes results in partnership with merchants and stores to maximize profitability. Facilitates the development, implementation, and ongoing execution of Loss Prevention initiatives, programs and services as it relates to technology and systems.
Leads project plans from concept to completion and works effectively with internal partners (i.e. Regional Loss Prevention Directors, Store Operations, Store Communications, Information Technology, Learning & Development, Home Office Merchants, etc.) to drive results. Acts as a Loss Prevention subject matter expert and ensures that operational and merchant initiatives align with Loss Prevention goals while driving profitability.
The ideal candidate should have significant experience with financials, as it relates to loss prevention.
This is a hybrid role based in Monroe, NJ.
What You Do
? Manages the physical inventory process including scheduling, development of training and communication materials, store execution compliance and the resolution of problems. Facilitates and coordinates with RGIS, Finance, Store Operations, Store Communications, Learning and Development and IT.
? Lead a Home Office Shrink Reduction Task Force.
? Analyzes and reconciles inventory to resolve issues including miscounts to ensure accurate results. Utilizes results in partnership with merchants and stores to increase awareness exposures and develops strategies to reduce shrink.
? Review physical adjustments from inventory by store, prepare and submit financial adjustments to finance team while partnering with stores to ensure accurate accounting of on hands.
? Collaborate with Finance teams for both stores and DC's to ensure accurate financial reporting.
? Reviews non-ED invoicing in detail to identify and resolve shortage exposures, including ensuring correct retail and allocation.
? Maintain accurate accounting of all research, adjustments and records for use during inventory reconciliation.
? Partnered with Business Development team to ensure proper financial processing on large institutional orders.
? Execute audits in the DC for accurate handling of the store returns and close store merchandise credits.
? Provides execution, communication and follow-up of store operation procedures in relation to Loss Prevention (e.g. cycle counts, consignment conversion and new operational procedures).
? In partnership with field colleagues, executes company related shrink programs designed to reduce inventory shrink and protect company assets.
? Enhances and ensures loss prevention programs support the delivery of the four core service principles.
? Determines Shortage Control Target Stores, completes shrink analysis and execute high shrink visits.
? Conducts research and determines resolution of store specific shrink issues.
? Consistently displays exceptional business writing skills.
Knowledge & Experience
? Strong organization, time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, independent-decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, etc. skills.
? Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented, customer-focused, etc.
? Knowledge and understanding of the principles of physical inventory related processes.
? Experienced in Microsoft Office, with exceptional Excel skills, able to learn and adapt to internal systems.
? Travel requirement 10%
? At least 5 years of retail management experience or a minimum of 3 years in a financial analyst type of role.
? Bachelor's degree preferred in Business or Finance, Supply Chain or related field.
? Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work cross-functionally.
? Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle tasks on multiple projects.
? Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative.
