Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction and support to our K-12 students who are visually impaired. As a remote TVI, you will work closely with students, families, and our educational team to ensure each child receives the individualized support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities: ? Provide direct instruction to visually impaired students in areas such as literacy, orientation and mobility, and adaptive technology. ? Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student?s unique needs. ? Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and execute strategies that support student learning and development. ? Conduct virtual assessments and observations to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed. ? Utilize various digital tools and platforms to deliver engaging and effective instruction remotely. ? Offer training and resources to parents and caregivers to support their child's learning at home. ? Stay current with best practices, assistive technologies, and legal requirements related to visually impaired education.

Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments, or a related field (Master?s degree preferred). ? Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Kansas ? Proven experience working with elementary-aged students who are visually impaired. ? Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching methods. ? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire students remotely. ? Proficiency in using virtual teaching platforms and educational software. ? Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting. ? A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
