About The Role...

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will ensure accurate and timely billing for patients and insurance companies, resolve billing discrepancies, and secure timely payments. Additionally, as an Office Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, managing appointments and patient information with care and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Billing Specialist Duties

Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.

Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers about eligibility and coverage.

Obtain pre-authorization for services.

Accurately generate and submit medical insurance claims.

Review and appeal denied or rejected claims.

Follow up on unpaid claims and overdue balances.

Address billing inquiries and discrepancies.

Stay updated on medical billing regulations and coding guidelines.

Assist in resolving coding issues and billing disputes.

Collect payments, including copays and coinsurance.

Communicate with insurance companies regarding medical records.

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Office Receptionist Duties

Answer incoming calls and emails within 24 hours.

Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.

Manage patient onboarding and upload patient information into the EHR.

Assist with patient enrollment.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing and coding.

Strong understanding of eligibility and authorization processes.

Experience with insurance verification and authorization.

Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.

Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) preferred but not required.

Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to self-start, multitask, prioritize workload effectively, and maintain professional conduct.

Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
