Chief Technology Office The Chief Technology Office (CTO) supports and delivers enterprise infrastructure and tech for tech services that enable Wells Fargo customers globally. The group is responsible for enterprise-wide services across the global footprint, including networking, production services, developer experience tools, centralized technology governance and controls, storage, data centers, mainframe, midrange and Cloud-based systems, distributed systems, and international infrastructure. CTO is undergoing a major transformation in the way we deliver services, including new cloud modeled data centers, new and modern development tools, adoption of a product operating model based on agile principles, and a customer-center frictionless delivery approach. The transformation effort aligns resources to the standard total business management approach, combined with a simplified, product-oriented re-structuring requiring a shift from command and control to collaborate to automate, placing speedy standardized solutions in the hands of the consumer directly. This move supports the ten-year vision of Wells Fargo Technology to operate fully in the cloud. Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes Cloud CIO At Wells Fargo, cloud computing allows us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this enterprise transformation to the public and private cloud, we?re seeking an experienced Cloud Leader who has expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud. This role will be responsible for continuing the vision, strategy, and execution for multi-cloud architecture, products and security that will scale as Wells Fargo applications (~5000 applications) and data portfolio shifts from a 10% (1000 applications in private cloud & 250 in public cloud) on Cloud environment to an 80%+ on Cloud environment over the next 4 years. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a large transformation and modernization at scale and a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud migrations, maintenance, experience in managing staff, and advanced industry knowledge are essential to keep us on the cutting edge. The cloud leader will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of IT operations and an ongoing impact on growth This position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer and will be part of the CTO Senior Leadership team. This leader must provide transformative cloud leadership to redefine delivery services by focusing on satisfaction of the customer within the new operating model, supporting continued Agile and Site Reliability Engineering adoption across Technology and integrate foundational delivery services as they are identified. This leader will collaborate and work closely with the Information & Cyber Security group, and functional and business CIO organizations to design, develop and deliver cloud technology services that support an automated, self-service, product operating model. Objectives of this role Work closely with our cloud engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company. Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to cloud developer teams to build their cloud competencies. Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design. Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines. Responsibilities Lead the engineering and operations of all multi-cloud products and services for scalable, secure, and reliable Cloud usage. Build and support Cloud capabilities emanating from Business Funded Application Investments as well as the Cloud migration program. Work closely with partner organizations to lead the vision and strategy for cloud adoption and drive associated program delivery and change management. Collaborate with stakeholders across other functions and business lines to enable and enhance the developer experience, support Reliability engineering practices and provision services for Wells Fargo to increase speed to market capabilities. Lead and scale a sizeable and growing engineering and services team responsible for the design, build, and reliability of cloud products and services to enable Wells Fargo migration to the public and private cloud. Lead the development of the Platform Strategy encompassing Mainframe, Private Cloud and Public cloud. Develop the Cloud Operations team and strategy, while jointly driving the on-premise Infrastructure transformation strategy. Drive the expansion of the Enterprise Cloud Organization through strategic workforce planning and the transformation of the on-premise Infrastructure organization to enable execution and adoption of cloud migration. Ensure standards, patterns, and reference architectures are in place to improve operational stability and time to market; create / refine governance routines to ensure adoption and measure compliance. Accountability for cloud product risk planning, including audits, risk assessments, and regulatory interactions to define and control cloud enablement ensuring strict compliance to technology policies and standards. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the developer experience and ease of cloud consumption within Wells Fargo Technology. Working collaboratively with Business stakeholders (CIOs) and third-party suppliers to proactively manage dependencies, deliver the desired business outcome, and better serve our partners and customers. Required Qualifications 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. 4+ years of Management experience Desired Qualifications Demonstrate disruptive thinking to drive the cross-functional modernization of technology and enhancing a consistent developer experience through the adoption of the cloud. Deep product knowledge and understanding of product features including: Microsoft Azure, AWS, IaaS, PaaS, Automation, DevOps. Possess deep experience leading large scale transformation efforts. Bring a track record of collaborating with other technology delivery channels and departments to deliver solutions effectively and efficiently. Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies aligned with business objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple cross functional teams. Extensive experience in technology leadership roles demonstrating strong execution skills in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment. Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, security, and privacy requirements within the financial services sector with strong expertise in risk controls self-assessment and implementing effective risk management strategies. Highly collaborative (with stakeholders at all levels) with strong influencing skills, creative, resourceful, self-driven and results-oriented with experience driving the transition of infrastructure services to hybrid and public cloud services. Transformation experience within large matrixed organizations and understanding of different approaches towards organizational design with knowledge of how to simplify the organization. Demonstrate a passion for building teams, and mentoring engineering skills required for cloud adoption at an enterprise scale. Must have strong executive presentation and relationship building skills. Ability to present a message clearly and succinctly to business leaders, product leaders and very large and executive audiences. Understanding of financial and budgeting practices and how an enterprise would operate in a product centric manner. Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
