Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN is hiring a Principal Software Development Engineer - React/Full-stack in Eagan, MN. As a Principal Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for software products or projects related to BlueCross's navigation portfolio. You will work with React, Node, AWS, Auth0, and other cutting-edge technologies to deliver, maintain, and improve our systems and interfaces. You will also collaborate with product owners, IT teams, and other stakeholders to plan, estimate, and solution for our systems, as well as mentor and manage other developers on your team.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of development experience and is an expert in React.js. Candidate must have experience with Node.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Terraform, Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases, REST, CSS, AWS cloud infrastructure, mobile, API, React Native, Serverless framework, Auth0 (or any other 3rd party Identity provider), AWS Cognito, and Application Architecture; a background in mobile development is preferred. Prior experience leading a team is a plus.
A Day in the Life:
? Act as lead developer for a portfolio of one or more software products or projects.
? Design, code, and developsoftware.
? Work collaboratively on a daily scrum team with a scrum master, product owner, analysts, other developers, and testers to iteratively deliver functional code to production.
? Provide technical leadership for projects and products to ensure usability, usefulness, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
? Work with analysts and customers to establish product or project requirements.
? Contribute innovative solutions while utilizing best practices, design standards, and governance.
? Research technology trends and contribute to designs and technology platform decisions.
? Collaborate with technology leaders and architecture to develop product roadmap.
? Mentor, lead, train other developers.
? This job may have one to three direct reports and include people management responsibilities.
? This job mayinclude on-call duties.
Required Skills and Experiences:
? 7+ years of related (software development/engineering) professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
? In depth experience with and knowledge of: React.js, Node.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Terraform, Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases, REST, CSS, AWS cloud infrastructure, mobile, API, React Native, Serverless framework, Auth0 (or any other 3rd party Identity provider), AWS Cognito, and Application Architecture.
? Creative thinking, strong communication skills, creativity, curiosity, self-motivated, time managements skills
? In depth prototype design and implementation experience.
Nice to Have:
? Bachelor's Degree in Technology or related field.
? Experience with agile, DevOps, IT Service Management, and other development and support processes and methodologies. Prior experience working in a Product team is strongly preferred.
? In depth prototype design and implementation experience.
? Mobile development experience
? Prior people management experience preferred.
? Tools Experience: SSMS, code Editors, ETL tools, CI/CD and code version control tools such as GitLab or GitHub, StoneBranch (workflow automation), Jira, Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow and AWS (RDS, EC2, ECS, EKS, cloud infrastructure)
? Proven experience building strong partnerships with the business to help drive delivery.

Hybrid Remote
Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote. Hybrid is a combination of working onsite and remotely. Onsite is full-time onsite.
