Job Title: Student TA - PRJ-2051 Cinematic Project I, part 2 (Mosio, McCubbin, Mathues), S25 Reports to: Christopher Mosio Class Times: Mondays ? 2:00 - 3:50 p.m. Fridays ? 1:00 - 5:50 p.m. Essential Functions Are you ready to put your talents and generous spirit to work as a TA for PRJ-2051 with Mosio, McCubbin, and Mathues? We?re looking for TAs that are enthusiastic, technically savvy, with excellent people skills. Unreal Engine and Perforce knowledge is required to assist Sophomores with their 3D film projects. Providing both technical problem-solving and creative feedback are key attributes. A Teaching Assistant (TA) is expected to assist the instructor in the classroom as requested by the instructor. Responsibilities may include equipment setup and/or operation (e.g., running slide decks during lectures), facilitating student presentations, answering student questions during labs, pre-grading assessments, submitting attendance sheets, etc. TAs are expected to assist with grading outside the classroom, meet regularly with the instructor, and may be required to meet with students outside class to answer questions as needed. Other duties as assigned by instructor. TAs may be asked to meet periodically with the instructors for performance feedback and duty modification. Duties and Responsibilities ? Assisting students in labs. ? Assisting students with Unreal Engine processes when they encounter problems. ? Meeting students online, if required for additional tutelage. ? Classroom setup, such as moving lighting or camera equipment from Rembrandt to our classroom. ? Providing constructive feedback in the grading to the students ? Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked Job Purpose: Provide support and assistance to Sophomore cinematic students in one or more of the following subjects: ? Unreal Engine for Cinematic Project I ? Perforce setup and problem solving (required experience) ? Character and environment asset importing into engine ? Production management ? Managing team dynamics and communications Primary Duties and Responsibilities ? Advise students regarding topics on preproduction for cinematic film, real-time cinematic production pipeline, Perforce use, 3D modeling, production management, or team dynamics. ? Be able to answer questions during class labs when faculty is not available ? Be available for a set number of hours outside of regular class time ? Work within team channels or Moodle to offer critique and feedback ? Assist with any team space, hardware/software issues as directed by the faculty ? Provide encouragement and advice based on personal experience ? Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked Qualifications/Competencies Proficiency in one or more of the following subjects: ? Unreal Engine 5.2 or above ? Perforce P4V (required) ? 3D Character creation ? 3D Environment creation ? Concept design ? Storyboarding ? Able to give critique in a professional manner ? Strong communicator ? Kind, reliable, punctual, and invested in the success of their fellow students ? Be able to work independently Expected dates of employment: January 6 ? April 28, 2025 Expected number of hours per week: 8-10 ? ** Once again, students are not permitted to work during any time when they are scheduled for a class. *** Wage Range: $16.66 - 17.75 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen Requirements to Apply: ? Current Semester Academic Schedule Working Conditions: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements: ? Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology ? Good Academic Standing ? not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog ? A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher ? Have taken and passed PRJ-2051 or PRJ-251 with a B or better Requirement Exceptions: It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!
