Bid Room Specialist
Position Purpose:
Responsible for organizing and coordinating bid processes for orders across all departments within the division. The Bid Room specialist will serve as a liaison between pro sales associates, merchants, and suppliers in order to process complex bids involving pricing, sourcing, and logistics. The specialist must be able to work objectively, accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: ? 70% Providing excellent customer service, processing manual bids, managing relationships with internal and external customers to maintain open communication and overall Bid Process support. ? 20% Communicating with suppliers, merchants, and pro sales associates. May serve as a key decision contributor on various key projects within a business function. ? 10% Developing, researching and identifying new opportunities to increase bid sales, process complex bids and optimize bid value.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
? Reports to a Supervisor
? This position has no direct reports.
Travel Requirements: ? Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements: ? Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
? Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications: ? Must be eighteen years of age or older. ? Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. ? Ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
Preferred Qualifications: ? Prior experience in the building materials industry ? Prior customer service experience ? Prior experience in inside/outside sales ? Work experience and/or knowledge of the commodity market ? Experience manipulating data in Excel

? The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
