Manager, Mission Education (Remote)

The manager, mission education will work to bring robust education about Komen's mission to life through digital approaches, virtual platforms, and in-person events, leveraging Komen's Core Breast Cancer Content and other breast health assets. The manager will collaborate across teams to develop and execute educational programming, training opportunities, and assets for a variety of audiences including the public, those living with breast cancer, staff and volunteers.

The manager is member of the education team within Komen's mission division. The education team supports Komen's role as an authority in breast cancer by providing evidence-based information for those seeking breast health/cancer information and building key education strategies and engagement with the breast cancer community and the public.

What You Will Bring to the Table

Lead the strategic development of innovative educational content and resources that provide safe, accurate, current, consistent and evidence-based breast health/breast cancer information and messages that are accessible for a broad audience.

Build education approaches relevant to breast cancer patients and those concerned about breast cancer in a rapidly evolving landscape, leveraging technological approaches to reach a wide audience.

Analyze education needs based on input from the public, patients, and those living with MBC; Komen departments and advisory committees; community partners; surveys and/or scientific research findings to inform program design.

Identify external experts from the field of breast cancer research and clinical practice along with patient support professionals including those from health and wellness, behavioral health, palliative care, and other support services fields relevant to breast cancer patients and those living with MBC for collaboration and program delivery.

In collaboration with the Health Information and Publications team, support content development of educational resources to supplement campaigns on key topics on breast health.

Lead the development of programming and logistical planning for Komen's Metastatic Breast Cancer Impact Series and periodic educational and scientific webinars.

Oversee the Komen MBC patient steering committee, which is a group of volunteers living with MBC who will advise Komen on educational programming, marketing campaigns, and other matters related to the needs of the MBC community.

Strategically integrate mission and breast health education in all experiential fundraising events at Komen, ensuring mission content and representation of mission programs is robust, accurate, and up to date.

Oversee the strategy and execution of mission volunteer training for experiential events and execution, creating assets for training and working closely with the event teams to determine needs and deploy through multiple platforms.

Develop presentations and tools to facilitate communication to internal and external audiences. Represent Komen as needed to media, donors, and other audiences.

Promotes a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.

Other duties and special projects as assigned.

We Already Know You Will Also Have

Demonstrated experience in program design, development, and deployment in a health education, health communications or public health environment.

Experience managing volunteer and/or advisory groups.

Intermediate-level knowledge of breast health/breast cancer issues and information.

Demonstrated cultural competency in developing educational programs that serve diverse audiences.

Experience as a public speaker and ability to communicate effectively both orally and through written materials.

Professional demeanor for interacting with stakeholders and program participants.

5 to 7 years' experience in a health education or health related field.

Master's Degree: (Health Education, Health Communications, Public Health or a related health field of study).

Preferred experience includes:

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credentials.

Knowledge of breast health and breast cancer. Experience in public health education.

Approximate salary $74,000 to $100,000, exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
