Director, AP Higher Education Academic Relations College Board ? AP&I Location: This is a fully remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office) Type: This is a full-time position About The Team The AP Higher Ed team at College Board is a small, collaborative team that represents all AP courses to faculty and staff at colleges and universities across the country. Team members are experts in public speaking and in navigating 1:1 individual conversations with faculty, Academic Affairs staff, and at times, policy makers at the state level. Our work incorporates technology in our outreach, we often use zoom and other internet conferencing tools to conduct outreach and advocacy. We pride ourselves on being focused on the perspective of our constituents ? on truly serving as ambassadors for the AP program to higher ed, and, also as ambassadors of the Academy back to the AP program. Our focus is on securing new... or improving existing credit or placement policies for qualifying AP scores ? work that then allows students to benefit from the advanced work they engaged in during high school. About The Position As the Director AP Higher Ed Academic Relations you will contribute to a broader team focused on supporting credit policy growth for the full suite of AP Courses and Exams. By focusing on new AP courses coming to market, you will build on existing examples of successful outreach models and design new outreach methods targeted to the disciplines and content of each new AP course. You will work directly with external constituents as well as with our internal partners within the College Board. Advocacy & Outreach (50%) Collaborate in the development of a strategic outreach and evaluation plan to drive and deliver support and credit policies for new AP courses Lead individual outreach to a defined portfolio of campuses and systems Effectively illustrate program relevance and value to academic leaders at targeted institutions and agencies; clearly convey alignment of AP courses and examination to comparable college-level learning outcomes Coordinate with the AP Program?s Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment staff to stay abreast of new AP courses and the development of curriculum and assessment materials Strategy & Cultivation (50%) Cultivate a broader faculty network from which to draw for future outreach Identify faculty with potential concerns about the AP and be proactive in outreach to these individuals Generally serve as a knowledgeable, trust-worthy, service-oriented resource for constituents Communicate outreach strategy and outcomes to AP program leadership and other internal College Board stakeholders Prepare and maintain a variety of outreach tools to include presentations, webinars, written communication and correspondence, and related reports. Develop presentations tailored to the specific needs and priorities of targeted audiences About You You Have: A cover letter included with your application submission Doctorate degree (required) Seven to ten years of progressively responsible work experience in a professional position in higher education or a related field. Work experience relevant to higher education is essential Knowledge of current Higher Education policy relative to articulation, academic course equivalence, and persistence and degree completion Understanding of current higher education trends and an ability to connect AP?s relevance to those trends Superb verbal and written communication skills in academic settings and with mixed audiences of teaching and research faculty, academic administration, enrollment, state and system representatives, and disciplinary organizations An ability to cultivate and sustain deep relationships and networks at the individual and institutional level An ability to develop custom reports and strategic plans for unique situations required Familiarity with institutional structure at both private and public institutions of higher education required Ability to speak with, network among, and build relationships across a variety of higher education representatives ? from staff, to faculty, to campus or system leadership. Familiarity with the reach of academic associations and the work of academic conferences. The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $88,000 to $145,000.
