Remote Broadcast Director (Part-Time)

About the Role

Disney is looking for a skilled and dynamic Remote Broadcast Director to coordinate live remote sports broadcasts. This position involves leading the creative and technical aspects of live events, from collaborating with collegiate production teams to overseeing broadcast operations. As a Remote Broadcast Director, you'll work closely with production teams to ensure seamless event execution and provide mentorship to students involved in collegiate sports production.

Responsibilities

Lead the live production of remote sports events, ensuring broadcast quality and continuity.

Collaborate with school and university production facilities to enhance broadcast quality, train student teams, and offer expert guidance.

Coordinate with Producers to set the creative and technical direction for live events, including camera setups, live-to-tape builds, and shot sequences.

Work with the Event Operations team to determine equipment and staff requirements.

Adjust coverage plans and direct the technical team to respond to live event developments.

Conduct on-site visits to assess and improve production standards at partner schools.

Make real-time decisions about visuals, sounds, and overall broadcast flow.

Research and stay informed on teams, players, and storylines relevant to assigned games.

Communicate with on-air talent before and during broadcasts, providing guidance and editorial adjustments.

Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues during live events.

Ensure proper placement of advertisements and promotions.

Engage with third-party resources to coordinate necessary services, equipment, and assets for broadcasts.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor?s degree required.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in TV production with responsibilities including AP, producer, and director roles.

Valid driver?s license required.

In-depth knowledge of live sports broadcast processes and sports history.

Understanding of the technical requirements for live remote productions.

Ability to communicate effectively with the broadcast team during live events.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of market positioning and strategies for various sports.

Financial awareness related to coordinating live sports broadcasts.

Passion for popular culture and trends, aligning with the preferences of ESPN?s audience.

Ability to travel as required.
