Job Description:

Join Southwest Airlines as a Quality Control Standards Data Analyst Intern and contribute to exciting projects that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency across the organization. This 12-week internship, running from May 21 to August 9, 2024, offers valuable hands-on experience while helping you grow professionally. You will work alongside industry professionals, utilizing data to suggest process improvements and create meaningful insights to support business goals.

Responsibilities:

Collect, validate, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within Quality Control processes.

Work closely with the Quality Control team to perform root-cause analysis and propose data-driven solutions.

Assist in creating reports and presentations based on complex data analysis for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Participate in ad-hoc analyses, solving urgent data-related issues as they arise and providing timely support for decision-making.

Use data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx) to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Conduct audits and reviews to identify process discrepancies and support process improvement initiatives.

Ensure adherence to compliance and quality control standards in all data-related activities.

Assist in developing queries to pull and organize data from multiple sources for comprehensive analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help drive the success of large-scale projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor?s Degree (or in progress) in a related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Experience with data analysis tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform root-cause analysis.

Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools to communicate complex data insights effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data to diverse audiences.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Previous internship or coursework related to data analysis, business, or quality control is preferred.

Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
